The Commune of St.
Venanzo, among Umbria's biggest as far as territory is concerned,
but among those with less population, is mostly situated on the
slopes of Mount Peglia (800 metres above sea level), between the
Tiber valley and Orvieto.

Seat of Mount Peglia
and the Selva di Meana mountain community, present an almost entirely
intact territory, where a population well below 3000 is scattered
among tiny villages, such as San Vito in Monte, Poggio Aquilone,
Civitella dei Conti, Collelungo, Palazzo Bovarino, Spante, Pornello,
San Marino, Ospedaletto, Ripalvella.
Among these, Rotecastello,
with its medieval tower and its spectacular position, is one of
the most fascinating.
